5 Cleaning Tips for a Spotless Floor
We all know how annoying it is to see an untidy house, but what’s more annoying is wrapping your head around cleaning it, especially when it comes to stained and dirty floors. If you just don’t have all the time in the world to clean, then you better choose smart.
Here are a few tricks to help you clean minus the stress.
Vacuum your floor at least once a week
When it comes to tidying your floor, your vacuum is your best friend. It’s a no hassle way of cleaning especially if you’ve had a long day at work. Just plug it in and you’re good to go.
Have doormats and house slippers available
There’s a reason why some households have a “no shoes inside the house” rule. Obviously this is because outside shoes are dirty and you don’t want to bring in the dirt in your home. Make sure that you have door mats and house slippers available so you have a place to wipe your feet, and keep your feet clean while inside the house.
Kitchen and dining room habits
The kitchen and dining room floors tend to be an area where it is the dirtiest (at least inside the house). This is because food crumbs, oil, and grease can accumulate in the floor area when you cook or eat. Don’t ignore dirt that falls on the floor when you eat; if you’ve made a mess, try your best to clean it up immediately so it doesn’t become a headache for you later on.
Cleaning your tiles
If the dirt on your tiles cannot be cleaned by a simple mop or vacuum, then it’s time to bust out the magic concoction. Prepare ¼ vinegar with 1 drop of dish soap and warm water in a spray bottle. Use this to get rid of hard-to-remove stains on your floor. This also functions as an anti-bacterial spray so you’re hitting 2 birds with one stone. But take note that this only applies to porcelain floors. For natural stone floors, it’s a different discussion as these types of tiles are more sensitive. Make sure you use low-pH and non-chelating cleaning tools to avoid damaging your floors.
No need to break your back when it comes to cleaning. You just have to follow these basic tips and tricks and you’ll have a cleaner house in no time.
